Undergraduate Courses

• Bachelor of Arts / Theology is a three-year (6 semesters) degree programme of subjects namely Theology, History, Psychology/English Literature/Sociology/ Philosophy and Political Science. The main goal of this degree is to help students integrate faith with their learning of humanities so as to foster faith informed social and vocational engagement in the society at-large. The degree provides students with career opportunities in social services, public service, etc.
• Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.) is a four-year (8 semesters) professional degree programme specially designed to train Pastors/Priests/Counsellors/Chaplains by inculcating a sense of commitment to serve in the Church following the footsteps of Jesus Christ. The duration of BD programme for a candidate with 10+2 is four years (8 semesters), and undergraduate degree in any discipline is three years (6 Semesters) and two years for BTh. with 60% marks).

MA (Master of Arts): Holistic Child Development (HCD)
MTh. (Master of Theology) in Old Testament/ New Testament/ Christian Theology/ Christian Ethics/ History of Christianity/ Missiology/ Christian Ministry/ Pastoral Ministry/ Christian Education/ Counseling/ Communication is of two years (four semesters) duration.

Ph.D. Theology
Gospel and Plough Institute of Theology (GPIT) offers PhD in Theology programme in various fields of specialization such as Old Testament/New Testament/ Christian Theology/ Christian Ethics/ History of Christianity/ Missiology/ Christian Ministry/Christian Education/ Counselling/ Communication. The PhD course work consists of minimum 20 credits and thesis 55 credits. More credits for course work may be offered on the recommendation of the Student Advisory Committee of a particular student depending on the academic background of the student and requirement of prerequisite/deficiency courses for research. The duration of the programme is a minimum of three years (six semester) and a maximum of six years (twelve semester), including course work. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the University rules.
