Dr. Pragati Shukla presently working as Assistant Professor and Head in the Centre for Tissue Culture Technology at Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agricultural Technology and Sciences, Allahabad since December 2007. She has completed M.Sc. Plant Physiology and doctoral degree in Plant Physiology with minors in Biotechnology and Biochemistry from College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, U.S. Nagar, Uttaranchal and M.Tech Biotechnology from SHIATS. She has qualified CSIR-NET-JRF and ICAR NET. Dr. Misra served as a senior lecturer, the Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Applied Medicines and Research, Ghaziabad from August 2005 to November 2007. Dr. Misra was offered Research Associateship in U.P. Council of Sugarcane Research, Shahjahanpur from January 2005-August 2005. She was recipient of CSIR Junior Research Fellowship and Senior Research Fellowship from January, to 2002-December, 2003 and January, 2004- December, 2004 respectively. She has teaching and research experience of ten and eleven years respectively. Twelve students were awarded Ph.D. degrees under her supervision and has advised many for their PG dissertations.

She has optimized in vitro regeneration protocols for stevia, safed museli, asparagus ashwagandha etc. medicinal plants. She has standardized protocol for mass multiplication of Banana from different explants and woking on microtuberization in potato and seconadary metabolite enhancement in mulethi and kashmiri garlic.
