Dr. Alok Kumar Mishra is presently working as Associate Professor in the department of Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Sam Higginbottom University of Agricultural technology and Sciences, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his graduation in Agricultural Engineering (B.Tech.) from Allahabad Agricultural Institute (Allahabad University) in 1993 and completed his Masters (M.Sc.Ag.Engg.) from Allahabad Agricultural Institute with major in Soil and Water Conservation (Allahabad University) in 1996. He completed his Ph.D. in 2016 from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Uttarakhand. Presently he is bearing the responsibility of Chief proctor
Expertise
He started his professional career as research fellow at water Technology Centre, IARI, New Delhi in 1996 “Use of Plastics in Agriculture” for very short period. In 1996 he joined as lecturer in the department of Soil, Water, Land Engineering and Management. His professional career experiences are more than 24 years. He is mainly involved in teaching Graduate, Masters and Doctoral students and his area of research is drought studies: Techniques and monitoring of drought, Assessment and mitigation of drought, Long term changes in irrigation requirement, soil and water conservation to mitigate drought and water scarcity, water harvesting techniques, rainfall-runoff modelling. Till now he has guided/guiding 06 Ph. students and more than 45 M.Tech students.
During his professional career he served/serving on different administrative posts of the University.
