Internal Quality Assurance and Assessment Directorate is instrumental for the overall management and strategic direction for academic quality management, which enables academics and research to achieve the highest standards in support of the planned development of the University. The IQAA team also develops a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. Further, during the accreditation and post-accreditation period, it channelizes all efforts and measures of the institution towards promoting its holistic and continuous academic excellence.
The IQAA Directorate is to be more developmental oriented focusing on continuous improvement offering a range of opportunities including the accreditation by national and international accreditation agencies. The Learning Spaces cover many areas of University activity like Curricular Aspects; Teaching, Learning and Evaluation; Research, Consultancy and Extension; Infrastructure and Learning Resources; Student Support and Progression; Governance, Leadership and Management and Innovations and Best Practices. In accordance to these modules, IQAA procure and retrieve information from each Office, Directorate, School, Department and Unit. On the basis of information, it screens, analyses, compiles and prepares the comprehensive reports, which are now being sent to various auditing agencies throughout the academic year.
Strategies
IQAA shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for:-
- Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, research, administrative and financial tasks
- Creating relevance and quality of academic and research programmes
- Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning
- To act as centralized data center at the University
Functions
Some of the functions expected of the IQAA are:-
- Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic, research and administrative activities of the University.
- Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
- Organization of inter and intra-institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
- Development and maintenance of institutional database for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
- Development of Quality Culture in the institution
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC and to other commissions/councils.
- Preparing comprehensive Reports for Institutional audit done by UGC, NAAC, ICAR, ICFRE, Certification Agencies etc.
