The Ph.D. in Christian Studies at the Department of Advanced Theological Studies is designed for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of theology while continuing their professional roles in ministry, academia, or church leadership. This innovative program provides an opportunity for students to engage in cutting-edge research in both Biblical Theology and Practical Ministry, including topics like Leadership, Mission, Church History, and Theology. The program’s flexible structure includes eight core courses, delivered in a compressed format to accommodate working professionals, along with two focused tutorials. Throughout their studies, students are guided by experienced mentors who provide personalized support and guidance tailored to each student’s academic and professional journey.
With a distinguished faculty of scholars from both India and abroad, the program offers a unique, global perspective on Christian studies. The Ph.D. in Christian Studies spans a minimum of three years (six semesters) and allows students to explore their areas of interest in-depth, culminating in a dissertation that contributes new insights to the field. The program is ideal for those looking to enhance their academic qualifications, influence Christian ministry, or develop as leaders in church and community settings. The Department of Advanced Theological Studies (DATS) offers PhD in Christian Studies. It is a research programme offered for candidates who can pursue research while maintaining their full-time teaching or leadership positions in their respective institutions. Students will work with a dissertation-mentor to complete work either in Theology (Bible and Theology) or Practical Theology (Leadership, History and Mission) after completing eight core courses offered in compressed form and two tutorials. The faculty consists of scholars from India and abroad. The duration of the programme is a minimum of three years (six-semesters) and a maximum of six years (twelve-semesters).
