Admission Procedure for UG and PG Programmes

1. Admission Procedure (2026-2027)

Admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of Agriculture / Pharmacy as listed in Table No. 1.1. shall be granted to the aspiring candidates after successfully passing the SHUATS Online Entrance Test (SOET-2026).

Admission to Nursing programme as listed in Table No. 1.2. shall be granted on the basis of merit obtained from the SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Nursing (SOETN–2026).

Admission for various other certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as listed in Table No. 1.3. shall be granted through Open Online Counselling.

A common online application form shall be applicable for all academic programmes and will be made available in the University website.

2. Category of Candidates and No. of Seats

2.1. Regular Students

Candidates selected for admission into various academic programmes offered by the university are considered as fulltime regular students. These students will be entitled to avail of all the facilities of the various academic departments and other fields in the university.

(a). Christian and General Candidates

University reserves 50% seats for candidates of the Christian community and the remaining 50% seats shall be allotted to general candidates. Thus, the total number of seats of the university have been categorized equally for Christian and general candidates. The total number of seats for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are given faculty wise in Table No. 8 of Prospectus 2026.

(b). Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Candidates

For the academic programmes in agriculture, agricultural engineering and allied sciences, fifteen percent (15%) seats in undergraduate programmes and twenty-five percent (25%) seats in postgraduate programmes will be filled through all India entrance test conducted by ICAR, New Delhi. However, eighty-five percent (85%) seats in undergraduate and seventy-five percent (75%) in postgraduate shall be filled by SHUATS. The ICAR seats available in various academic programmes in agriculture, agricultural engineering and allied sciences are given faculty-wise in Table No. 8 of Prospectus 2026. The ICAR category seats are inclusive of Christian and general candidates and the number filled in either category shall be adjusted against total seats in each category.

(c). Foreign Candidates

Foreign candidates are not required to appear in SOET / SOETNP / merit based offline counselling / open online counselling. Admission to foreign candidates will be given on the recommendation of the Directorate of International Education and Training. The foreign candidates shall pay fees in U.S. dollars as mentioned in Table No. 9 of Prospectus 2026, which does not include the boarding and lodging (food expenses etc.) charges.

(d). Non-resident Indian (NRI) Candidates
  1. Admission for NRI wards/NRI-sponsored candidates is available in all undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programmes.
  2. NRI wards/NRI sponsored candidates are exempted from the merit based online counselling / open online counselling.
  3. These admissions shall be against fifteen percent (15%) over and above seats available for various academic programmes.
  4. Fees for NRI Wards/NRI sponsored candidates shall be the same as for foreign candidates as mentioned in Table No. 9 of Prospectus 2026.
(e). Kashmiri Migrant Candidates

Vide letter F.No. 3-4/2017-NER dated October 15, 2019 from MHRD, Government of India, the Kashmiri Migrants will be considered for admission under special package during the session 2026–2027. They will be required to produce the supportive documents.

(f). Special Candidates (Lateral Entry)

Candidates with first-class diploma of 3 years and fulfilling other conditions of admission in engineering shall be considered for direct admission to third semester of relevant UG programmes under lateral entry in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology if seats are available. The University reserves the right to modify the requirements for lateral entry.

2.2. Academic Programs & No. of Seats

The information indicated in Prospectus 2026 is only for general guidance and could be modified / changed from time to time by the University. The University reserves the right to keep any academic program in abeyance. The University reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of seats of various academic programmes offered by the University. Any legal matters shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Prayagraj (Allahabad) only.

3. Eligibility to Various Programmes for Admissions

3.1. Eligibility for Undergraduate Programmes

10+2 passed with the minimum percentage of marks as listed in the eligibility criteria (Table no. 8 in Prospectus 2026) with 5% relaxation for SC/ST/differently abled candidates as per their qualifying examination (Table No. 4 in Prospectus 2026) are eligible for admission to undergraduate programmes. Candidates appearing in 10+2 examination in 2026 are also eligible to apply provisionally for admission and appear in the Online Entrance Test (SOET-2026) / SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Nursing and Pharmacy (SOETNP-2026) / Open Online Counselling, but they will have to submit documentary proof of successfully completing the examination (or otherwise) at the time of counselling otherwise, provisional admission will be provided subject to the submission of necessary documents of qualifying examination latest by 30.09.2026. Non submission of documentary evidence of completion of the examination and attaining eligibility by 30.09.2026 may lead to the disqualification of admission. The University reserves the right to extend the date of submission of producing necessary documents of qualifying examination.

3.2. Eligibility for Postgraduate Programmes

Candidates having obtained their bachelor's degree in the final examination in the concerned field under 10+2+4 or 10+2+3 as per their qualifying examination (Table no. 6 in Prospectus 2026) and fulfilling the eligibility as per Table no. 8 in Prospectus 2026 (with 5% relaxation for SC/ST/differently abled candidates) are eligible for admission to postgraduate programmes. The candidates appearing in bachelor's degree examination in 2026 are also eligible to apply provisionally for admission and appear in the SHUATS Online Entrance Test (SOET-2026) / SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Nursing and Pharmacy (SOETNP-2026) / Open Online Counselling, but they will have to submit documentary proof of successfully completing the examination at the time of counselling. Non submission of documentary evidence of completion of the examination and attaining eligibility by 30.09.2026 may lead to the disqualification of admission. The University reserves the right to extend the date of submission of producing necessary documents of qualifying examination.

3.3. Eligibility for B.Ed., M.Ed., B.Sc. (Nursing) and Pharmacy Programmes

The eligibility for B.Ed. and M.Ed. shall be as per the latest NCTE norms. The eligibility for B.Sc. (Nursing) shall be as per the latest INC Norms. The eligibility for B.Pharma., D.Pharma. and M.Pharma. programmes shall be as per the latest PCI norms.

4. Admission to programmes under Table No. 1.1 through SHUATS Online Entrance Test (SOET-2026)

Admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes listed in Table No. 1.1. shall be granted to the aspiring candidates after successfully passing the SHUATS Online Entrance Test (SOET-2026) which will be conducted twice a week from February/March 2026 onwards till June / July 2026. SHUATS Online Entrance Test (SOET – 2026) will be conducted through Remotely Proctored Online Test (using own Laptop / Desktop). Candidates applied through online application forms and successfully cleared SOET 2026 will be provided a provision to select their desired academic programmes, according to the availability of seats under Christian and General category. After selection of the academic programme, the candidates will be required to upload the necessary documents related to qualifying examination and fulfilling the eligibility or fill-up an online undertaking to submit necessary documents related to qualifying examination and fulfilling the eligibility latest by 30.09.2026 or any date as prescribed by the University. Provisional admission letter on the basis of undertaking will be issued to the candidate. After which he / she shall submit the fees online through the portal itself. 48 hours’ time period will be given to the candidate to submit the fees to confirm the provisional admission.

4.1 Offline Document Verification Drive

Offline Document Verification Drive will be conducted in July / August 2026 before the commencement of the classes at the University. The provisionally admitted students will report to the Counselling Cell as per the schedule published in the website and intimated to the Candidate for physical verification of the documents and eligibility will be checked and their respective provisional admissions will be confirmed and Identity Card (ID) will be issued. Any necessary undertakings / affidavits will be required to be submitted by the candidates with regard to the minimum eligibility, documents etc. University reserves the right to give admission on the vacant / withdrawal seats in Table No. 1.1. after the completion of offline counselling. The vacant / withdrawal in Table 1.1. seats may be open to Open Online Counselling, however the decision is reserved by the University.

4.2 Admission through Open Online Counselling for Limited Vacant Seats (July 2026 onwards)

After completion of the admission process through SHUATS Online Entrance Test (SOET 2026) and the Offline Counselling, a limited number of vacant seats, in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes listed in Table No. 1.1 will be filled through the Open Online Counselling Portal, at the discretion of the University. Eligible candidates who have submitted the online application form for admission to SHUATS for the Academic Session 2026–27 may log in securely to the Open Online Counselling Portal and exercise their choice of programme(s), subject to the availability of vacant seats under the Christian and General categories. Candidates shall be required to upload the prescribed documents in support of their qualifying examination and eligibility. In case the required documents are not available at the time of counselling, the candidate may submit an online undertaking to produce the same on or before 30.09.2026, or any other date as prescribed by the University. A Provisional Admission Letter shall be issued to the candidate after successful programme allotment. The candidate shall be required to pay the prescribed first semester fee through the Open Online Counselling Portal within 48 hours of the issue of the provisional admission letter, failing which the allotted seat shall automatically stand cancelled and may be offered to another eligible candidate. The provisionally admitted candidates shall report to the University as per the schedule notified on the University website for offline verification of original documents and eligibility. Admission shall be confirmed only after successful verification of documents, fulfillment of eligibility conditions, submission of the prescribed undertakings/affidavits, and payment of the requisite fee. Upon confirmation of admission, the Student Identity Card (ID) shall be issued

5. Admission to Nursing programme through SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Nursing (SOETN - 2026)

The admissions to Nursing programme as listed in Table No. 1.2. shall be strictly on the basis of merit obtained through SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Nursing (SOETN-2026). The SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Nursing (SOETN-2026) will be conducted through Remotely Proctored Online Test (using own Laptop / Desktop). The date for conducting SOETN-2026 will be notified in the University website.

5.1. Merit List
  1. Christian and General Merit lists shall be prepared from the performance in SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Nursing (SOETN-2026).
  2. Separate merit lists will be prepared for each category (Christian & General) for the purpose of admission. The merit lists will be released as per the application form number in the University website at www.shuats.edu.in.
  3. Out of the eligible programmes listed under Table No. 1.2., the candidate will be provisionally admitted in only one programme, strictly on the basis of merit and as per the availability of seat in the respective Christian / General category of seats.
  4. However, candidates may opt in programmes mentioned in Table No. 1.1. and Table No. 1.3. also, if seats are available.
5.2. Offline Counselling for Programmes mentioned in Table No. 1.2.

Counselling for candidates as per the merit list in each category (Christian and general) will be conducted offline at the University for admission to various programmes listed in Table 1.2. Information regarding date and time of offline counselling will be published on the University website, later. Upon verification of the documents and eligibility, programmes will be allotted strictly on the basis of merit and as per the availability of seats in the respective Christian / General category of seats of programmes mentioned in Table No. 1.2. After verification and allotment, the seat shall be secured after the payment of the first semester fees. After completing these procedures, the Identity Card (ID) will be issued to the student. Any necessary undertakings / affidavits will be required to be submitted by the candidates with regard to the minimum eligibility, documents etc.

The University reserves the right to give admission on the vacant / withdrawal seats in Table No. 1.2. after the completion of offline counselling. The vacant / withdrawal in Table 1.2. seats may be open to Open Online Counselling, however the decision is reserved by the University.

6. Admission through Open Online Counselling for Programmes mentioned in Table No. 1.3

Admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes mentioned in Table No. 1.3. shall be granted through Open Online Counselling. Click here for Open Online Counselling 2026 portal.

Candidates applied through online application forms will be able to login into the Open Online Counselling Portal securely and select their desired academic programmes, according to the availability of seats under Christian and General category. After selection of the academic programme, the candidates will be required to upload the necessary documents related to qualifying examination and fulfilling the eligibility or fill-up an online undertaking to submit necessary documents related to qualifying examination and fulfilling the eligibility latest by 30.09.2026 or any date as prescribed by the University.

Provisional admission letter on the basis of undertaking will be issued to the candidate. After which he / she shall submit the fees online through the portal itself. 48 hours’ time period will be given to the candidate to submit the fees to confirm the provisional admission.

7. Admission through SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Health Sciences (SOETHS-2026) for Programmes mentioned in Table No. 1.4.

Admissions to the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes of Health Sciences listed in Table No. 1.4 shall be strictly based on merit determined through the SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Health Sciences (SOETHS-2026). The merit shall be prepared using the following weightage:

  1. 80% weightage to marks obtained in SOETHS-2026;
  2. 20% weightage to marks secured in Class 12 (PCB) for UG programmes, or to graduation marks for PG programmes.
The SOETHS-2026 shall be conducted through a Remotely Proctored Online Test (using the candidate’s own laptop/desktop). The date of examination shall be notified on the official University website.

7.1. Merit List
Separate Christian and General Merit Lists shall be prepared based on:
  1. 80% weightage to marks obtained in SOETHS-2026;
  2. 20% weightage to marks secured in Class 12 (PCB) for UG programmes, or to graduation marks for PG programmes.

The merit lists shall be published on the University website (www.shuats.edu.in) using the application form number. Out of the eligible programmes listed under Table No. 1.4, a candidate shall be provisionally admitted to only one programme, strictly based on merit and subject to availability of seats in the respective category. However, candidates may also opt for programmes listed in Table No. 1.1 and Table No. 1.3, subject to availability of seats.

7.2. Offline Counseling
Counseling for candidates shall be conducted offline at the University campus based on the merit list in each category (Christian and General) for admission to the programmes listed in Table No. 1.4. Details regarding the date, time, and venue for offline Counseling shall be notified on the University website. During the offline counselling, the Documents and eligibility of candidates shall be verified. Programme allotment shall be made strictly based on merit and availability of seats. The allotted seat shall be confirmed only after payment of the first semester fee. Upon completion of admission formalities, the Student Identity Card (ID) shall be issued. Candidates shall submit necessary undertakings/affidavits, as applicable. The University reserves the right to fill vacant/withdrawn seats after completion of counseling. Such seats may be offered through Open Online Counseling, if required, at the discretion of the University.
7.3. Admission through Open Online Counselling for Limited Vacant Seats (July 2026 onwards)

After completion of the admission process through SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Health Sciences (SOETHS-2026) and the Offline Counselling, a limited number of vacant seats, in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes listed in Table No. 1.4 will be filled through the Open Online Counselling Portal, at the discretion of the University.

Eligible candidates who have submitted the online application form for admission to SHUATS for the Academic Session 2026–27 may log in securely to the Open Online Counselling Portal and exercise their choice of programme(s), subject to the availability of vacant seats under the Christian and General categories.

Candidates shall be required to upload the prescribed documents in support of their qualifying examination and eligibility. In case the required documents are not available at the time of counselling, the candidate may submit an online undertaking to produce the same on or before 30.09.2026 , or any other date as prescribed by the University.

A Provisional Admission Letter shall be issued to the candidate after successful programme allotment. The candidate shall be required to pay the prescribed first semester fee through the Open Online Counselling Portal within 48 hours of the issue of the provisional admission letter, failing which the allotted seat shall automatically stand cancelled and may be offered to another eligible candidate.

The provisionally admitted candidates shall report to the University as per the schedule notified on the University website for offline verification of original documents and eligibility. Admission shall be confirmed only after successful verification of documents, fulfillment of eligibility conditions, submission of the prescribed undertakings/affidavits, and payment of the requisite fee. Upon confirmation of admission, the Student Identity Card (ID) shall be issued.

8. Refusal of Admission

  1. If any candidate is found misleading the University with false marks, mark sheet, information and been admitted in the University, the University reserves the right to reject the admission and further debar the candidate from seeking admission in the University in future.
  2. It is the responsibility of the candidate to furnish complete and correct information in the application form. Any admission made on the basis of wrong or concealed information provided by the candidate or due to any oversight or error of the online counselling and admission division which is subsequently detected after the admission or joining of the candidate, will be cancelled at any time at the cost and the risk of the candidate. Admission may be cancelled, if any candidate does not fulfil the commitment to submit the required document(s) etc. as per the undertaking / affidavit given by the candidate.
  3. Candidates against whom disciplinary action has been taken and who have been involved in any sort of established criminal offence in the past, will not be considered for admission.
  4. If admission of a candidate is not in the interest of the university, the Vice- Chancellor reserves the right to cancel the admission of such a student, irrespective of the fact that he / she fulfils all the academic requirement of the programme. The decision of Vice- Chancellor shall be final and legally binding on the candidate.
